March 9, 2018 Humanitarian Service Medal approved for recent disaster relief effort The Joint Staff recent approved the Humanitarian Service Medal for service members, Coast Guardsman, and members of the Reserve Components, to include the National Guard, who were physically present during recent hurricane disaster relief.
