Hooligans Land in Bismarck Published May 5, 2026 By 119th Public Affairs BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota Air National Guard's 119th Wing marked another historic milestone on April 14, 2026, when it successfully flew an MQ-9 Reaper remotely-piloted aircraft to the Bismarck Municipal Airport for the first time. The flight demonstrates the unit's expanding operational capabilities and continued integration of the unmanned aircraft throughout the state and region. The MQ-9 is flown remotely from a ground control station and is used primarily for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Bringing the aircraft to a new location, such as Bismarck required careful coordination, planning and execution from aircrews, maintainers and partners in the aviation community. The successful flight to Bismarck sets the stage for future training opportunities and further integration of MQ-9 operations for the state.
