The NASCAR hat
The 185th Fighter Wing “NASCAR” organization hat worn by members of the Iowa Air National Guard unit during the early 2000s. The unconventional organizational ball cap was dubbed the “NASCAR” hat because it was designed to look like a NASCAR hat from that time. The 185th FW wore the NASCAR hat from 2000 until the unit’s conversion to air refueling in 2002. U.S. Air National Guard photo Senior Master Sgt. Vincent De Groot
