A U.S. flag sits at the home of retired Chief Master Sgt. Hank Hendrix, 100, in Springfield, Missouri, Oct. 27, 2021. The flag was flown over the U.S. Capital at the request of Sen. Roy Blunt and later gifted to Hendrix. Hendrix was a World War II veteran and former member of the Missouri Air National Guard’s 180th Bombardment Squadron, the unit that the 139th Airlift Wing traces its origin to.
