A member of Hawaii National Guard assigned to Joint Task Force Oahu supporting surge test registration at the Interstate H-3 assists leadership through registration requirements September 1, 2020, Honolulu, Hawaii. Guardsmen working the registration stations help and collect registration forms, and supply each testing passenger with his/her own COVID-19 test kit. The Hawaii National Guard (HING) Joint Task Force (JTF) assisted the City and County of Honolulu with their surge testing program from Aug. 26 through Sept. 14, 2020. U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Jerome Adams and Honolulu County Mayor Kirk Caldwell coordinated multiple locations for about 60,000 tests with an ambitious goal of conducting 5,000 tests daily on the island of Oahu.
