Flag's days

Letters signed by the various governors, secretaries of state, territorial presidents and capitol superintendents, among others, verify the flying of the American flag shown in the background at their respective states. The flag has been on permanent display at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in Louisville, Tenn., for nearly 30 years. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Mike R. Smith/released)
