Commander’s journey on the less traveled road

Air National Guard Col. Richard W. Wedan, right, exchanges a word with his son, Air Force 2nd Lt. Steven Wedan, after they flew in formation together Feb. 7, 2015, at Portland Air National Guard Base, Ore. The flight was Col. Wedan’s last in an F-15 Eagle and as commander of the 142nd Fighter Wing. Lt. Wedan flew in the backseat of Col. Wedan’s wingman jet, piloted by Col. Paul T. Fitzgerald, 142nd Fighter Wing Vice Commander. Col. Fitzgerald assumed command of the wing during a ceremony held here Feb. 7. Lt.
