Defense leaders call California Guardswoman a 'role model'
Air Force Lt. Col. Susan Pangelinan from the California National Guard is awarded a DoD Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) award March 19 at the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA) Memorial, Arlington, Va., for her accomplishments as a medical advisor to the California Guard's Joint Force Headquarters. The awards ceremony honored 10 servicemembers who have worked toward the development of women and minorities in foreign languages and the STEM fields. It coincides with many other programs, ceremonies and activities that are observing women's history this month. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Mike R. Smith) (Released)
