Looking for wear and tear
AL ASAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Staff Sgt. Anthony Phillips, 438th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron nondestructive inspections technician, prepares a sample of engine oil from an A-10C Thunderbolt II to be analyzed by a spectrometer here. The spectrometer burns engine fluids to discover contaminants that would signify wear and tear to the A-10C’s engines.
