ANGRC commander talks to Chief's Executive Course: We are here for you Published March 5, 2014 By Master Sgt. Marvin Preston Air National Guard Readiness Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- The Commander of the Air National Guard Readiness Center discusses the purpose of the ANGRC with Chief Master Sergeants from across the country during the Chief' Executive Course here Wednesday. "We are here to serve the 89 wings and [geographically separated units] in the states, territories and the District [of Columbia]," said Air Force Brig. Gen. R. Scott, the ANGRC commander. "We are here to provide resources, information, and guidance ... we are here for you." The purpose of the CEC is to provide new Chief Master Sergeants with a broad view of operations at the strategic level. Williams took this opportunity to share the mission of the ANGRC for those in attendance to take back to their wings and units. Williams and Chief Master Sgt. Tony Whitehead, command chief of the ANGRC, discussed the importance of developing Airmen. They shared their thoughts on how to provide Airmen an opportunity to gain valuable skills and use those skills at the wing and unit level. "The development of the staff at the Readiness Center and the relationship between the field is important," said Williams. "We hope to provide an opportunity for level of experience here at the headquarters level for your state members and transition that staff knowledgeable experienced member staff back to the field." The ANGRC provides support to Air National Guard organizations for operations, training, and execution matters to Air National Guard organizations focusing on execution year and budget year. "Our focus is people, mission and future," said Williams. "By taking care of people and the mission, we help secure the future of our Air National Guard. It is critical to make sure we are looking for ways to make sure we have the right Airman in the right place." Williams explained that the ANGRC provides a base structure to support Air National Guard operations throughout the country and abroad. "We are the base of the pyramid ... you are the top," said Williams. "We are supporting you, that is why we are here."
