Preston Air National Guard Readiness Center JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- The Air National Guard Readiness Center recognized the accomplishments of the ANGRC's top performers during the 2013 ANGRC Annual Awards Ceremony Friday at the ANGRC here. The ceremony was hosted by Air Force Brig. Gen. R. Scott Williams, the commander of the ANGRC, and focused on the outstanding work of the ANGRC staff. "This is one of my favorite parts of this job," said Williams. "Recognizing our outstanding performers is a privilege." Williams discussed how the ANGRC staff makes it easy to be grateful. "You all make it easy to be grateful," said Williams. "Grateful for this team that is dedicated to supporting our leaders and ANG field units ... grateful for the chance to be part of this team ... grateful to come to [the Air National Guard Readiness Center] every day, and do the good work that keeps our Air National Guard 'All In.'" Williams and the Command Chief for the ANGRC, Chief Master Sgt. Tony L. Whitehead, presented the annual awards to the recipients. The Annual award winners were: Civilian of the Year Category 2, Judy G. Rodgers, Operational Support and Compliance Civilian of the Year Category 3, Shawn B. Anderson, Communications Airman of the Year, Senior Airman Aaron L. Rush, Training Education Center Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year, Tech. Sgt. Roberto Zayas-Ginorio, Logistics Senior NCO of the Year, Master Sgt. Kenneth A. Gowins, Communications Company Grade Officer of the Year, Capt. Jason D. Brown, Communications Field Grade Officer of the Year, Lt. Col. Wah Wai Sze, Air Surgeon "Despite the challenges and obstacles with working in the [National Capitol Region], this team has made outstanding contributions and remains focused on the ANGRC priorities, people, mission and future," said Whitehead. The ANGRC annual awards recognize the member's contributions in leadership in job performance in their primary duties, significant self-improvement, and base and community involvement. "These top performers represent the scope of our mission and how we synergize all efforts to achieve the Total Force mission," said Whitehead. "Our annual award winners are setting the example for excellence, sacrifice, and duty."
