Former 188th Wing member Berry named new Arkansas National Guard adjutant general Published Dec. 18, 2014 Arkansas National Guard Public Affairs CAMP JOSEPH T. ROBINSON, Ark. -- Arkansas governor-elect Asa Hutchinson announced Dec. 17 that Brig. Gen. Mark Berry, former 188th Maintenance Group commander and current Arkansas Air National Guard chief of staff, will be the Arkansas National Guard's next adjutant general. "I have had the opportunity to work with Brig. Gen. Berry over the years and I congratulate him on his selection as our next adjutant general," said Maj. Gen. William Wofford, Arkansas National Guard adjutant general. "Brig. Gen. Berry has a wealth of experience serving 40 years in the Air Force, with over 20 of those years in the Arkansas National Guard." Berry will be the first Arkansas National Guard adjutant general from the Air National Guard since 1966. Berry also served as 188th public affairs officer, 188th Communications Flight commander and 188th Mission Support Group commander during his time at the 188th Wing. "He will do Arkansas a great job," Wofford said. "I look forward to working with Brig. Gen. Berry during our transition; his years of service and experience will continue to move our great organization in the right direction." The change of command is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at Militia Hall located on the Professional Education Center campus at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock.
