Department of the Air Force holds first “Warrant Officer Summit” at Maxwell Published Sept. 9, 2025 By Capt. Rachael Parks Holm Center Public Affairs MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, AL - Warrant officers from across the Department of the U.S. Air Force gathered this week for the first Warrant Officer Summit since the reestablishment of the Warrant Officer Training School (WOTS) in 2024. The summit brought together graduates from every WOTS class from Fiscal Year 2025, uniting Active Duty, Reserve, and Air National Guard members for mentorship, collaboration, and professional development. The event also included members of the current class, Class 26-01; comprised entirely of Air National Guard warrant officer candidates. “This summit represents more than a reunion, it’s a pivotal step in building a cohesive and resilient warrant officer corps,” said Major Tanner Allhouse, WOTS Commandant. “This is especially important as our current class consists of all Air National Guard, where they do not have the opportunity to learn from their Active Duty or Reserve counterparts, this event facilitated that.” The summit focused on strengthening the growing network of warrant officers and laying the foundation for a culture of collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. “Our goal is to cultivate a strong, unified warrant officer community,” Allhouse said. “They know they are all in this together, to build a strong community of peers and identify challenges or any roadblocks they face. This creates a venue for them to collectively bond together to identify the biggest challenges or gaps in their future development.” A highlight of the summit was a keynote address by Colonel Lauren Courchaine, Director of Communications and Cyber Operations. During an Open House event, Courchaine discussed current initiatives within the A6 community and the critical role warrant officers will play in shaping strategic communications and cyber capabilities across the force. While this was the first event of its kind, it is not expected to be the last. “We certainly hope this becomes a recurring summit,” Allhouse said. “The warrant officer’s greatest tool is the network, integration, and teamwork amongst the cohort. It is important they use each other to share ideas and other innovative ways to continuously improve the warrant officer culture.” For more information about Warrant Officer Training School and future events, visit https://www.afaccessionscenter.af.mil/Holm-Center/Warrant-Officer-Program/WOTS/
