111 ATKW Airmen work with their heads in the clouds Published May 23, 2023 By Airman 1st Class Charles Casner BIDDLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Air National Guard Airmen assigned to the 270th Engineering Installation Squadron climbed up a communications tower to attach an antenna at Biddle Air National Guard Base, in Horsham, Pennsylvania, May 7, 2023. This installation consisted of climbing approximately 50 feet up the tower, properly rigging the antenna to the tower, and testing it from the ground. The 207th EIS performed the work for the 111th Communications Squadron in order to improve their effectiveness and ability to provide communication support to Biddle ANG Base. "The relocation of the antenna improved radio coverage on base and eliminated blind spots," said Air National Guard Capt. Adekunle Fodeke, Commander of the 111th CS. "Doing this ensures that all our security forces never miss important or emergency calls on the radio while providing 24/7 security on base." Tech. Sgt. Chris Peluzzo, a member of the electronics division in the 270th EIS, spoke about how doing this work locally helps better prepare airmen for the fight abroad. “We support intelligence operations and communications around the world,” said Peluzzo. “Being able to effectively execute jobs like this stateside helps us prepare for supporting the fight overseas.”
