Position Description (Duty Description)

Duties and Qualifications: 
This position is located under the NGB/CCY  Operations Support The incumbent is responsible for numerous contracting transactions such as assisting and participating in contract negotiation for supply and services acquisition. Assists with the total range of contracting actions from acquisition planning, solicitation actions, contract award, contract administration and contract closeout procedures.

Manages, performs, and administers contracting functions for commodities, and services using simplified acquisition procedures, negotiation, and other approved methods. Uses automated contracting systems to prepare, process, and analyze transactions and products such as PD2 and PCF. Acts as business advisor, buyer, negotiator, administrator, and contracting officer. Supports all functions of ANG operations.

Procure and plan acquisitions for standard or specialized items, and services contracts where specifications have become standardized and established competitive markets and price competition exist.  Review requisition package for adequacy, consistency, and compliance with administrative, regulatory, and procedural requirements. 

Monitor contract performance and assists in contract termination.  Monitor contract performance through telephone conversations, correspondence, site visits, inspections, progress reports, and analysis of contractor metrics, for compliance with performance standards, applicable laws, delivery schedules, payment provisions, inspections, progress reports, and other requirements stated in the contract.

The contracting career path includes three progressive levels of certification. Each level identifies the completion of specific training, education and experience requirements. Acquisition personnel may not be assigned to an acquisition position unless they have been awarded a certification at the level which the position requires, or can obtain the required certification within twenty-four (24) months of being assigned to the position.  This position requires a minimum of Level I APDP certified Contracting Officer prior to being selected.

Secret Clearance is required.  Strong skills with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, are preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for this position.

Physical Fitness Assessment: Current Physical Fitness Test (all pages) within past 12 months. Must be valid for up to 90 days from date of application submittal.

AF Form 422 - Notice of AF Members Qualification Status: With NO restrictions and validated within the last 60 days from the date your application is received.   Form must indicate member does not have a deployment restriction (Code 31) or is undergoing an MEB (Code 37).  "Working copy" will NOT be accepted. Upon final selection, you may need to provide an updated AF422 within 60 days prior to the tour start date.

Last 3 OPRs (no EPR for enlisted)   IAW MPFM 07-45 dated 11 Jul 07,  para 17b "OPRs on AFRC and ANG Officers are due to the CSS no later than 30 days after close-out and to HQ ARPC no later than 60 days after close-out."
