Hawaii Air National Guard air defense experts recently completed a subject matter expert exchange with their counterparts from the Philippine Air Force, marking the fifth straight year the HIANG has partnered with the PAF to exchange ideas on air defense as the Southeast Asian country goes through a military modernization effort.

Operation Career Coach 2017 High school counselors learn about ANG careers
One hundred and three career counselors from Alabama High School Career Technical Centers attended a career counselor day here at the 117th Air Refueling Wing, October 19 and 20. The event, dubbed Operation Career Coach, showcased unit capabilities and promoted opportunities in the Alabama National Guard to increase knowledge of the local units.

Arizona Air National Guard in St. Croix Arizona ANG supports relief efforts in Virgin Islands
Arizona Air National Guard Airmen recently supported hurricane relief efforts in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Airmen from the 161st Security Forces Squadron provided site security at the St. Croix airport, while aerial port Airmen maintained accountability for incoming Hurricane Maria relief supplies.

The 232nd Operations Squadron celebrated its 10th year anniversary as an associate unit integrated with the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center and the 432nd Wing at Creech Air Force Base, Nev. In the decade since its activation, the squadron's Airmen have acted as remotely piloted aircraft maintainers, sensor operators, pilots and intelligence specialists.

The SPP links a state's National Guard with the armed forces of a partner country in a cooperative, mutually beneficial relationship by means of tailored, small footprint, high-impact security cooperation engagements that foster long-term enduring relationships with U.S. friends and allies around the world. The 163rd Attack Wing at March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley sent four Airmen and its Mobile Emergency Operations Center (MEOC) to Napa Valley College in Napa, late Tuesday, Oct. 10, where an evacuation center was established Monday, Oct. 9, after the Tubbs Fire threatened homes in the Calistoga area.
