More USAF aircraft added to fight west coast fires
Air National Guard C-130, MAFFS 6 out of Channel Islands, Calif. launches July 14, 2021, from CAL FIRE Air Tanker Base, McClellan Park, Calif. The USDA Forest Service activated the MAFFS-equipped Air Force C-130 aircraft through a DoD request for assistance and the aircraft have been operating out of McClellan since June 26th. The Air Force MAFFS teams are managed by First Air Force (Air Forces Northern)’s 153rd Air Expeditionary Group.
