442 CES firefighters stop blaze in deployed location

Firefighters spray water into in an abandoned dormitory constructed of modified shipping containers March 13, 2021, in New Camp Brown, Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan. The Quick Strike Team – a 12-person team, half of whom deployed from the 442d Civil Engineer Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. – arrived on the scene three minutes after the fire was reported and were awarded the Army Achievement Medal for their actions.
